Human spaceflight by SpaceX
On this May 30, SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft began its journey and carried two NASA astronauts to the space station(Orbital space station created by NASA) With this for the first time, NASA astronauts reached to the Space station by commercially built American spacecraft launched from American soil. Since 2011, NASA has not launched astronauts to space from American soil.
About Crew Dragon’s spaceflight – Mission Demo 2
SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket was used to lift off the Crew Dragon spacecraft to orbit. The Crew Dragon is designed to dock with space station autonomously under the monitoring and control of onboard astronauts. So, not much controlling from the ground station. After docking with the space station, the two astronauts will become members of the Expedition 63 crew. This Crew Dragon spacecraft is capable of staying in orbit for 110 days. On mission completion, it will autonomously undock the two astronauts from the space station and bring them back to earth’s atmosphere and will land near to Florida’s Atlantic coast
The Result is crucial and will set the path
The result of the mission especially Crew Dragon’s successful return-landing to earth, along with 2 NASA astronauts is crucial.
Elon Musk, SpaceX founder is planning to build a city of 1million people on Mars by 2050. His dream will not remain far from realization if Crew Dragon completes Demo 2 mission successfully.
It will set the path for human transportation to space
